Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) batteries, also commonly known as Sealed Lead-Acid (SLA) batteries, are a type of rechargeable battery designed for reliable and maintenance-free energy storage applications.The key difference between VRLA batteries and conventional flooded lead-acid batteries is that the electrolyte in VRLA batteries is immobilized, preventing free movement of the acid solution. This sealed design significantly reduces the risk of electrolyte leakage and allows the battery to operate safely even in applications where space, safety, and maintenance requirements are critical.Because the electrolyte is contained within the battery structure, VRLA batteries have become a preferred choice for standby and backup power applications, offering enhanced safety, reliability, and ease of installation. Even in the event of casing damage, the immobilized electrolyte design helps minimize the risk of spillage.
